If you’re running a WordPress eCommerce web site, you wish to make sure that your emails  delivered to your customers promptly. But sometime it doesn’t works and the mails end up into the spam folder due to which you are not able to connect with your customer properly.

What if you want to sent order related updates using mail and what if your customer request for password reset or may be open new account which need to be validated using mail but all of those mails ends up into spam and possibly cause lose of precious customer.

You Need to setup Simple Mail Transfer Protocol generally know as SMTP in your wordpress.

How to setup SMTP in WordPress ?

To setup SMTP in your wordpress website you can use one of many plugin provided in absolutely for free.

Now we are going to show you how to setup SMTP using WP Mail SMTP by WPForms

Step 1 – Go to Plugins->Add New and Search for WP SMTP and Install WP SMTP by WPForms

Step 2 – Activate the plugin and go to WP Mail SMTP ->Settings. You will be landed on general tab of WP SMTP here first set From Email and From Name under Email Column

Step 3 – under Mailer Column select one of the SMTP Server. you can choose any of the given option in this tutorial we are using Sendgrid. 

Step 4 – Now the next step ask you for  Sendgrid API KEY you can use this url to get you API Key please note that you need to register for an account at Sendgrid if you already not have one.

How to create a API Key at Sendgrid ?

  1. Navigate to Settings on the left navigation bar, and then select API Keys.
  2. Click Create API Key.
  3. Give your API key a name.
  4. Select Full Access, Restricted Access, or Billing Access.
  5. If you’re selecting Restricted Access, or Billing Access, select the specific permissions to give each category.
  6. Click Create & View.
  7. Copy your API key to use it later

Step 5 – Enter the API into the input box and save changes by clicking on button.

Congratulations! you successfully setup SMTP

Final Step is to click on Email Test tab from tab menu and enter the mail you want to receive test mail on and click on Send Email.

You will get a test mail right into your inbox something like this.
